Smoke Watch 2007
Time Smoke-Free: 2 days, 11 hours, 29 minutes and 4 seconds
Cigarettes NOT smoked: 25
Lifetime Saved: 4 hours
Money Saved: $3.87
Yesterday was not such a good day. I had NO caffeine, NO nicotine, and I was NO fun! I have a sore throat. I don't know if that is from not smoking (because I heard that sometimes it makes you sick) or if it is from jumping in the 58 degree water on Monday with Jon-Jon and Loren as part of our unofficial Polar Bear Plunge. I was tired and grumpy and more tired and more grumpy as the day wore on.
Loren got to leave work early since their new computer system wasn't running properly. He was home when I got there so I just crawled on top of him on the couch and laid my head on his chest. He cradled me like a baby, wrapped his legs around mine, his arms around my back and I fell asleep like that, face down in his chest. He just kept stroking my hair and telling me he was proud of me. I felt so warm and protected -- completely surrounded by his love and support.
I can do this.
I walked for about thirty minutes yesterday. Nothing spectacular but it was something. I am trying to avoid the trap that I always fall into when I try to be healthy. I OBSESS. Every morsel of food, every bit of exercise. I tire of it quickly and fall off the wagon. I have to let go of my perfectionism.
So my positives for yesterday?
I didn't drink any soda.
I DID drink 8 glasses of water.
NO fast food.
I stopped eating when I was full.
I CHOSE to walk home rather than ride.
Good start....
