Today is my love's 37th birthday. :)

And it's Halloween. Happy Halloween!

I threw my cat eye contacts in and put sparkles on my face. Toss in my floor length ruby red velvet cloak with black satin lining (thanks to my Goth year in high school) and voila, I am a demon.

We spent the weekend in the desert, with Halloween weekend being the first "official" desert weekend. It was a blast!! My boss dressed up like a character from Up In Smoke in a pink leotard, tutu, tights, a big black Afro wig and Elvis glasses. His hairy legs were a sight to see in those tights! He has got one of the fastest buggies in the desert and there he was in an Afro wig pulling wheel stands on the Hill! It was freaking hilarious!

The most awesome news of the weekend was that my boss and his fiancee won custody of her kids. We had been working like madmen to get all the evidence together for the court hearing to get an injunction so her ex couldn't move them to another state. The judge was totally on our side and FINALLY awarded custody to them. The kids were only supposed to be in Cali for the weekend, but now they don't have to go back. They are SO happy! I feel really good and proud for having helped make things right.

And I think I will get to add nanny to my duties as personal assistant, which I totally don't mind! :)

So Kaysar and Michael are totally my friends on MySpace. Yes, I am special.

My Uggs were my birthday present from HammieLove. Aren't they cute? I feel all cuddly and cozy when I wear them. HL likes to cuddle me too!

I had a good birthday yesterday. Boss gave me the day off and HL and I stayed home and watched Ong-Bak (which is a kick ass martial arts film.) Marty and Jen took us out to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. Yummy!

Three Martinis, One Beer and A Lot of Beads

On Saturday night, Steve, Marty, Jen and I went to one of the Indian casinos to watch our friends band play. Their band name is Staying Alive and they do a wicked disco show complete with requisite bell bottoms and Afro wigs. I had such a good time dancing and watching all the fifty something couples dance. I discovered that when you go to a show that has a lot of baby boomers, these are the types of dancers that you see:

The Country Dancers -These are the couples that do the two step, even though the style totally didn't fit the music.

The Baby Boomer Grinders - These are the dancers that are all over each other, groping and grinding into the night. All I can say is "Ew."

The Shy Ones - All they do is step together, side to side to every dance no matter what.

The Elaines - Everyone remembers that episode of Seinfeld right? Enough said!!

I had a great time though. And I got a lot of beads (without showing my ta-tas!)

More happened this weekend, but I have to get to work!!

The new job is going really well but it is keeping me really busy. Not enough work in the office to keep me busy but we are short handed in the shop and since I am never afraid to get my hands dirty... And since we caught one of the guys smoking weed in the parking lot, we are going to be MORE shorthanded when we fire him today.

My boss, M, is helping his fiancee fight for her children. Her wicked ex is using them only as a commodity to make her "pay" for leaving him. And he wonders why she left? He is such an ass. I have been helping them write up a legal brief with evidence taken from the journal she has kept of her and her kids conversations from the past two years. Her babies want to live out here, she wants them out here but the judge keeps giving them to the father. We are working really hard on this case and hopefully it will pay off soon!

My birthday is in FOUR days!! I am getting kind of bummed. Don't ask me why. I know it is not because I am turning 25. I don't really care about that. I just don't know why I am in a funk. I think it is because the holidays are coming up and I am going to have to see all the FREAKING diamond commercials and then I am going to get all depressed because all I want in the world right now is to get engaged. So girly of me, I know. But that is what I want.

I think HammieLove has something up his sleeve for my birthday though. He has been very mum about things lately. Actually everyone in my life has been very mum about my birthday. Maybe they all just don't care... :(

Dang, I am being a whiner today! Meg and I are dressing up and going to sing karaoke at the most redneck place I have ever been to. They already look at us like we are crazy. Showing up dressed to the nines is going to be so fun!!
